It's been an interesting week. I wrote two contracts worth a million dollars on Thursday, one of which died before I even had a chance to think about it, and I have similar concerns with the contract remaining. All of this has taught me that I prefer not to work with "investors" - usually because they're only experience as such was staying up too late and catching an info-mercial from Carlton Sheets or some other schemer that says you can buy houses without having any money, without paying any money, and that all you really need to buy as many houses as you want is their 4-disc set of videos for four easy payments of $29.99. I think I'm going to become an alchemist.
Kami and I celebrate six years of marriage tomorrow. I was talking to a friend this week, and he asked me if I thought that I encouraged people "dumping" their marital problems on us. I told him that I didn't think so, but he disagreed with me. He said that I asked him about his marriage before I knew the name of his two kids. He didn't say if it was appreciated or not, but I guess he's right. God has given Kami and I a passion about marriage, tested by fire and forged in faith. Later that night I told my friend that the greatest two parts of my day were in the moments before we fell asleep at night and the first moments of the morning when we wake up together. There is a fondness that Kami and I have for each other that supersedes all of the chaos of the day between those two times. That fondness doesn't come naturally - it has to be renewed daily, and it lives or dies within momentary decisions made throughout the day.
Didn't mean to start a sermon...time to watch some football and pray for God's will on my second deal that is currently in limbo. God bless.
