Thank you all for the congratulatory comments. We found out that Kami was pregnant a little over a month ago, and we were just waiting until after our first appointment (last Thursday) before telling everyone. Right now the due date is set for August 27th, but we've been told that that could change - they'll have a better estimation when we go in for the first ultrasound (third week in February). Kami actually hasn't been sick at all to this point, although apparently being pregnant does afford you certain super powers - like a super sense of smell and a heightened awareness of the taste and texture of her food. She nearly cried when she had a bite of chocolate and found that her memory of its taste was better than the post-conception reality she was experiencing.
In related news, we bought a new car this weekend. Kami has been driving a 1995 Chevy Lumina for the last five years, which we purchased from her grandmother when Kami was in college. The car ran faithfully for the time that we had it, but we've been getting many signs recently that it was nearing the end of its useful life. Finally, we found out this weekend that it needed repairs that exceeded the value of the car itself. Since this car was now carrying our spawn (wow - somehow that term kills all the magic), we decided that we better start preparing for the car seat holdin', sippee cup leaking, pack 'n play packin' lifestyle that is beckoning us. The picture to the left is Kami's new ride - a 2006 Saturn Vue, equipped with child seat anchors and a Honda made V-6 engine. I'd like you all to notice how it looks NOTHING like a mini-van (click on the image to see more pictures and read a recent review of the mid-size SUV).

Whatever man. That is SOOO a minivan. Get yourself a “World’s Best Dad” coffee mug and you’re set.
I like your new wheels, Kami. A mommy-to-be will look awesome behind the wheel. Just think of the diapers this thing can haul!
Enjoy.
Congrats on the new ride… Have you gotten “Spinners” for it yet? I think Jesse should get you some spinners.
Ha ha!
It’s so fun to drive. I just love it! I’m going to have to get used to looking for it in the parking lots though.
Looks great you guys.
Enjoy!
looks great, good choice
