God’s been working on me this week, and so far I think it’s taking. The past few months have led me to this point, to a readiness for risk and reward, to a step forward on an unlighted path. I won’t get into the messy details, the sleepless nights, the diminutive appetite - but the decision has been made, and now that it’s made I feel a great sense of peace.
I’m not good at snap decisions - at least not when they seem to be HUGE snap decisions. It took me a year to decide to make the jump into self-employment, and it’s taken me almost six months to make this most recent decision, to take another step toward independence by leaving the team that I was initially with and creating a new team with Dennis Pearce, my business associate. The step is not a fiscally conservative one - logos needed to be developed, signs made, business cards changed, marketing campaigns started, etc - but I think it’s money well spent. Our new team name is Pickett Street Properties (if you want an explanation of how the name came into being, an explanation is on our parked site: www.PickettStreet.com).
Three months before we expect our first child - why not shake things up a bit? Everything rational about me says that I’m crazy, but then God starts working on me, and I remember: since when is God rational? It’s been almost a year since my last crazy decision, and that worked out okay, so has God changed in that time that He won’t see me through this phase as well?
All of this is easy to say now. It’s taken me a couple of months to get to this point, and I have to remind myself of His faithfulness every time I write a check. Hopefully that to will subside. Consider this my perpetual prayer request.

may you be richly blessed for being obedient
Congratulations Jesse. It’s a huge step but one that I believe you are ready to make and capable to handle. We’ll be praying for you guys.
Awesome!! Some dear friends of ours just took a similir leap with God in the business world. (Also Christians)
They’ve been amazed at the goodness that has come their way, before their doors even opened. (Be encouraged!)
I’ll add you to the “new business” prayer list.
What a creative name for a new business. It sticks…you know how some names just slip right out of your ear only minutes after hearing it!! I also love your new page in the book. You know my prayers are with you and Dennis.
Blessings and Prosperity to you both.
love,
Mom
