Kami took Tuesday and Wednesday off of work, with the intent that we would try to get away - primarily from my phone, my email - my work. That didn’t happen Tuesday, as I had business that couldn’t be ignored. I took a different tactic yesterday though, and changed the greeting on my phone to the following:
Hello, you’ve reached Jesse Moore with RE/Max Northwest Realtors. Today’s
Wednesday and I’m going to be spending the day with my nine-month pregnant wife,
so I’m going to be unavailable for the majority of the day. I will be checking
messages as often as I can and returning calls when I’m available. Please leave
a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you.
We both had commitments that wouldn’t allow us to leave until about 3 in the afternoon, but then we then took a drive to a local mountain lake, I left the phone in the car, and we went for a walk, dipped our toes in the water, and just enjoyed the sun.
One of the reasons that I became a real estate agent was because I saw so many of them doing their job poorly, mainly due to a lack of follow-up and follow-through. Knowing this, I’ve always been sure to return calls promptly and answer the phone when I can. Committing to this has meant that I’ll usually answer calls at all times of the day (or night), and while my wife understands this, it wasn’t a bad move for me to put her in front of the potential for future business for an afternoon - especially since she’s nine months pregnant and we’ve had record high temperatures for the last couple weeks.

I’m glad you two were able to get away and relax for awhile. You both sound like you needed a little R&R.
I’m glad you are able to put work on hold for a few hrs. My boss needs to learn that before she ruins her health!
We’ve got our countdown to Baby Moore’s arrival started over here. We can’t wait! Have a great month.
The funny thing is…pregnancy is really 10 months not nine. It is a myth that the baby comes out at nine months.
We will be praying for Kami’s comfort. The heat has been tough on Kim at 7 months, I am sure it is worse at 9.

I must have missed that vm that day, glad you took the day off to spend time with your wife and soon to be new mom! I liked the text of your vm, I’ve found that most people/customers are very understanding when it comes to making time for family.
