My maternal grandfather (and last remaining grandparent) passed just a couple of years ago. He was gruff and surly on the outside but had a heart as big as Texas. Like your grandfather, mine was also a WWII vet but never talked about his stint in the US Army Air Corp. It wasnt until after his death that we found out details about his service to our country and some of the things that hed done for us as a family throughout the years.
